Departure from Marrakech by minibus towards Zagora via Ouarzazate. We drive through the famous Draa valley with its impressive palm groves, kasbahs, ksars, oases ... In the afternoon we drive to Oulad Driss, where we spend the night in a typical kasbah in the middle of the oasis or tents on the edge of the desert. Dinner and overnight.
After breakfast we meet our Camel Drivers, and load our luggage. Departure of the caravan towards the dunes, a magnificent and wild landscape, sand dunes, dry plateaus, tamarisks and acacias, with the Jbel Zagora mountain range in the background. Lunch in the shade of an Acacia tree . We penetrate further into the large dunes of Sidi Naji (approx. 5h hike). Camp near the Marabout in the middle of the dunes.
Today we leave Sidi Naji, away from the sandy deserts and walk along the dried up lakes lined with tamarisk trees. You immerse yourself completely in the Sahara, in one of the most beautiful dune regions in Morocco. After lunch in the shade of some trees, we continue the tour towards the dunes of Erg Zaher. After a glass of Moroccan tea, we climb the great dune to experience an unforgettable sunset. From here you have a wonderful view of the Chegaga dunes. (approx. 6h hike). A quiet day: We resume the hike in the middle of the dune and walk back to the northeast along the Draa Wadi, which is then lost in the sand. The dune of Ait Ounir slowly appears in a desert-like and wild landscape (approx. 4h hike). Lunch and camp in Ait Ounir near the dunes. Afternoon hike in the area or free time, reading, or just sit on a dune..
Today we move in a dune landscape that allows us to return to the famous Draa Valley and the Ras N'khel palm groves near the village of Mhamid. Lunch in the shade of a tamarisk grove. In the middle of the dunes, under palm trees, we spend the last evening with the caravan (approx. 6h hike). Tent camp in Ras Nkhel.
