Your 3-Day Morocco Itinerary
Marrakech to Dades Gorge via Ait Ben Haddou
Depart Marrakech and travel south through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m). Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou. After lunch, continue through Ouarzazate, the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, and the Valley of Roses. Arrive at Dades Gorge for dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel or guesthouse.
Dades Gorge to Merzouga (Sahara Desert)
After breakfast, continue through southern Morocco toward Merzouga, passing Kalaat M’Gouna and Erfoud along the way. Upon arrival, enjoy a camel ride or walk across the desert dunes while watching the sunset. Continue to the desert camp for dinner, traditional Berber music around the campfire, and an overnight stay in traditional desert tents. (Note: a sleeping bag is recommended from October to April.)
Merzouga to Marrakech
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the Sahara Desert, then return to Merzouga by camel. After breakfast, begin the journey back to Marrakech, traveling through Berber villages and diverse landscapes toward Ouarzazate. Continue through the High Atlas Mountains and arrive in Marrakech at approximately 7:30 PM. Drop-off will be at your hotel or the closest accessible point to your Riad.
