Accompanied by a certified local mountain guide, you’ll walk through agricultural landscapes, discover traditional adobe architecture, meet local families and experience genuine mountain hospitality. With mule support, full-board meals and accommodation in local guesthouses, this trek is ideal for travelers looking for an accessible and authentic High Atlas adventure.
Meals During the Trek
Breakfast: Coffee, tea, milk, bread, jam and other simple Moroccan breakfast items.
Lunch: Moroccan salads, warm dishes, fresh fruit and mint tea, or a picnic including tomatoes, onions, cucumber, cheese, olives and other seasonal products.
Dinner: Soup, traditional Moroccan dishes such as tagine or couscous, fresh fruit and hot drinks including tea or coffee.
Vegetarian meals, food allergies and specific dietary requirements can usually be accommodated when communicated in advance.

Marrakech to Arouss via Ouzoud Waterfalls and Azilal
Depart Marrakech toward the Ait Bouguemez Valley. Visit the spectacular Ouzoud Waterfalls before continuing to Azilal, one of the main gateways to the Central High Atlas. Cross the Oughbar Pass at approximately 2,200 m and enjoy panoramic views over the M’Goun Mountains before descending toward the Ait Abbas Valley. Pass through Agouti and continue to Arouss at approximately 2,000 m. After settling into the guesthouse, enjoy a short walk through the surrounding traditional villages and the peaceful Tamazrit Plateau. Driving time: approximately 5 hours. Walking time: approximately 1 hour. Overnight in a guesthouse.
Arouss to Tabant through Ait Bouguemez Valley
Walk through the beautiful Ait Bouguemez Valley, passing traditional villages built with earth and stone. Follow paths through cultivated fields bordered by apple and walnut trees and experience the hospitality of the local Amazigh communities. Walking time: approximately 4 hours. Overnight in a guesthouse.
Tabant to Imlaghs via Adazen Mountain
Leave Tabant and continue toward Ibakliwen to see the famous dinosaur footprints. Walk toward R’bat village before climbing Adazen Mountain for panoramic views over the Ait Bouguemez Valley. Enjoy lunch beneath the juniper trees before descending gradually toward the opposite side of the valley. Walking time: approximately 5 hours. Overnight with a local family in Imlaghs at approximately 1,900 m.
Imlaghs to Marrakech via Timit and Imi n’Ifri
After breakfast, climb toward Timit to visit the historic collective granary and marabout of Sidi Moussa at approximately 2,008 m. From the top, enjoy extensive views over the entire Ait Bouguemez Valley. After the visit, begin the journey back to Marrakech, stopping at the natural bridge of Imi n’Ifri for lunch. Continue to Marrakech in the afternoon. End of services.
