Your 6-Day Morocco Itinerary

Marrakech to Azib Ikiss via Azilal and Ait Bouguemez

Depart Marrakech and travel toward the Central High Atlas, stopping near the Ouzoud Waterfalls for a picnic lunch. Continue through Azilal and Ait Abbas toward the beautiful Ait Bouguemez Valley. Meet the mule team and begin the trek toward Azib Ikiss at approximately 2,300 m, surrounded by sheep and goat pastures. Overnight in tents.

Azib N’Arous to Tarkedit via Aghouri Pass

Trek through the wild landscapes of the High Atlas and cross the Aghouri Pass at approximately 3,400 m. After a picnic break, descend along nomadic trails toward the Tarkedit Plateau, passing streams and alpine meadows. Overnight in tents at around 2,900 m. Ascent: +1,150 m. Descent: -500 m.

Tarkedit to Oulilimte via Mount M’Goun Summit

Begin the ascent of Mount M’Goun at 4,068 m, one of Morocco’s highest peaks. Although not technically difficult, the altitude and loose terrain make this a challenging day. From the summit, enjoy panoramic views over the Draa Valley, Jebel Saghro and the Sahara. Descend through the Oumssoud basin and follow the Assif M’Goun toward Oulilimte at approximately 2,600 m. Ascent: +1,200 m. Descent: -1,500 m. Overnight in tents.

Oulilimte to Ain Aflafal

Continue through a wide mountain valley surrounded by impressive High Atlas peaks. Follow a clear stream and discover unusual rock formations before reaching a peaceful campsite near a small river. Descent: approximately -300 m. Overnight in tents.

Ain Aflafal to Ait Imi Village via Ait Imi Pass

Trek through terraced fields and traditional villages before climbing toward the Ait Imi Pass at approximately 2,900 m. Enjoy magnificent views before descending along old mule trails toward Ait Imi village at approximately 1,900 m. Ascent: +700 m. Descent: -1,000 m. Overnight in tents or a traditional mountain gîte.

Ait Imi to Marrakech via Sidi Moussa and Imi n’Ifri

After breakfast, visit the Timit hill and the historic collective granary and marabout of Sidi Moussa at approximately 2,008 m, with panoramic views over the Ait Bouguemez Valley. Continue toward Marrakech via the natural bridge of Imi n’Ifri, stopping for lunch along the way. Arrival in Marrakech marks the end of services.
