Marrakech to Toubkal Refuge via Imlil
Depart Marrakech and drive approximately 1.5 hours to Imlil at around 1,800 m, where you’ll meet your guide and local mule team. Begin the trek through Ait Mizane Valley toward the Toubkal Refuge, passing the pilgrimage site of Sidi Chamharouch along the way. Arrive at the refuge for dinner and an overnight stay. Ascent: approximately +1,400 m. Walking time: approximately 4–5 hours.
Mount Toubkal Summit to Aremd Village
Begin the summit ascent early in the morning and climb Mount Toubkal at 4,167 m. Enjoy panoramic views over the Sahara, Marrakech Plain and surrounding High Atlas peaks before descending to the refuge and continuing toward Aremd village at approximately 1,900 m. Dinner and overnight stay in a guesthouse. Walking time: approximately 9 hours. Ascent: +1,000 m. Descent: -2,000 m.
Aremd to Dades Valley via Ait Ben Haddou
Depart early and travel south across the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass at approximately 2,260 m. Visit the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou before continuing through Ouarzazate and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing the Skoura palm grove and Rose Valley. Arrive in the Dades Valley for dinner and an overnight stay.
Dades Valley to Merzouga via Todra Gorge
After breakfast, travel through Boumalne toward Todra Gorge and explore the spectacular canyon on foot. Continue toward Merzouga via Tinjdad and Erfoud. On arrival, take a camel ride across the dunes to your desert camp. Enjoy dinner, traditional music and an overnight stay beneath the Sahara sky.
Merzouga to Marrakech via Draa Valley
Wake early to experience the Sahara sunrise before breakfast at camp. Begin the return journey to Marrakech via Rissani, Alnif, the Anti-Atlas Mountains and the Draa Valley, passing traditional kasbahs and ksours. Stop for lunch in Ouarzazate before continuing to Marrakech, arriving in the evening. End of services.
