Starting from Marrakech, the journey follows the famous Draa Valley toward Zagora and the gateway to the desert at M’Hamid before continuing deep into the Sahara on foot and with a traditional camel caravan.
Walk through wild dunes, dried riverbeds, tamarisk groves and remote desert plateaus while discovering Berber villages and peaceful palm oases. Nights are spent in traditional desert camps, offering an authentic way to experience Morocco’s Sahara far from the busiest tourist routes.

Your 8-Day Morocco Itinerary
Arrival in Marrakech
Arrive at Marrakech Airport, where you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel or Riad. Enjoy free time to explore the Medina and the souks around Jemaa el-Fna Square. Overnight stay in Marrakech.
Marrakech to Ouled Driss via Zagora
Depart Marrakech and travel toward Zagora via Ouarzazate, following the spectacular Draa Valley with its palm groves, traditional kasbahs and oasis landscapes. Continue in the afternoon toward Ouled Driss, where you will spend the night in a traditional kasbah or in tents on the edge of the desert. Dinner and overnight stay.
Ouled Driss to Sidi Naji via Bounou
After breakfast, meet the camel drivers and prepare the caravan for the first trekking day. Walk toward the dunes through a wild landscape of sand, dry plateaus, tamarisk and acacia trees with the Jebel Zagora mountains in the distance. Enjoy lunch beneath an acacia tree before continuing toward the large dunes of Sidi Naji. Walking time: approximately 5 hours. Overnight desert camp near the Marabout.
Sidi Naji to Erg Zaher
Continue across the wide Sidi Naji Valley, following dried lake beds lined with tamarisk trees. Enter one of the most beautiful dune regions of the Sahara and enjoy lunch in the shade before continuing toward the spectacular Erg Zaher dunes. After Moroccan tea, climb a high dune to watch the sunset over the desert. Walking time: approximately 6 hours. Overnight desert camp.
Erg Zaher to Ait Ounir
Resume the trek through the dunes, heading northeast toward the Draa River, which gradually disappears beneath the sands of the Sahara. Reach the peaceful and isolated dunes of Ait Ounir, where you can relax during the afternoon and enjoy the surrounding desert landscape. Walking time: approximately 4 hours. Overnight desert camp.
Ait Ounir to Ras N’Khel
Continue through the dune landscape toward the Draa Valley and the palm groves of Ras N’Khel near M’Hamid. Enjoy lunch beneath tamarisk trees before continuing through dunes and palm landscapes. Spend your final evening in the Sahara with the camel caravan. Walking time: approximately 6 hours. Overnight camp in Ras N’Khel.
Ras N’Khel to Marrakech
After breakfast, enjoy a short final walk through the dunes before meeting your vehicle. Return to Marrakech via Zagora and Ouarzazate, arriving in the afternoon. Transfer to your Riad for an overnight stay in Marrakech.

Transfer to Marrakech Airport according to your flight schedule. Assistance with check-in and end of services.
