After breakfast, we leave Marrakech and visit the most beautiful waterfall in Morocco, where we’ll enjoy a picnic along the way. Then we continue through Azilal and Ait Abbass to the Happy Valley of Ait Bougmez. There, we load our luggage onto mules and begin our Mgoun Peak ascent trek, walking through the valley to the shepherd village of Azib-n-Ikkis. We set up camp near a spring, surrounded by flocks of sheep and goats. Overnight in tents.
We walk through untouched landscapes of the High Atlas before crossing the Aghouri Pass (3400 m). After a picnic break, we descend the nomadic trail to Tarkedit. Bubbling streams and green alpine meadows make this a favorite grazing area. Elevation: +1150 m / -500 m. Overnight in tents.
We ascend Mount M'Goun, one of Morocco's highest peaks. Though not technically difficult, the altitude and scree make it a challenge. From the summit, enjoy incredible views of the Drâa Valley, Jbel Saghro, and the Sahara. We descend through the solitary beauty of the High Atlas, crossing the Oumssoud basin and the Assif M'Goun source to reach Oulilimte. Elevation: +1200 m / -1500 m. Overnight in tents (B/L/D).
Today’s trail leads through a wide valley, always in view of the impressive peaks. We follow a clear stream and admire unusual rock formations. Camp near a small river. Elevation: -300 m. Overnight in tents (B/L/D).
We hike through terraced fields and picturesque Berber villages, ascending to the Ait Imi Pass with magnificent views. Then we descend along mule trails to Ait Imi village. Despite being far from cities, the village is lively and welcoming. Elevation: +700 m / -1000 m. Overnight in tents or gîte d'étape (B/L/D).
After breakfast, we visit the TIMIT pyramid and the collective granary and marabout of Sidi Moussa (2008 m), which offers panoramic views of the valley. We then return to Marrakech via the natural bridge of Imi n'Ifri, where we stop for lunch. Arrival in Marrakech and end of services.
