Rose Valley Trek
At the foot of the southern slopes of the central High Atlas, in ochre and red hues, lies a myriad of valleys in harmony with the most beautiful kasbahs, with their adobe architecture emerging amidst the lush vegetation that forms the extraordinary gardens of the Valley of Roses.
This Rose valley trek will allow you to discover the evolution of landscapes and Berber dwellings, as you travel from village to village, crossing the Mgoun river, the Ait Ahmed valley, and ascending its course through spectacular gorges. It’s an exploration of a preserved culture and authentic relationships with Berber farmers, all within an exceptional natural setting.
At the beginning of each spring season, the Valley of Roses and its region offer a magnificent spectacle as the rose bushes bloom. A contrasting itinerary that reveals the splendor of the rose valley , perfectly in tune with its picturesque landscapes.
Itinerary of Rose valley Trek
Arrival and welcome at the airport by your guide – transfer to the hotel – city tour if time permits.
We leave Marrakech and cross the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260 meters) to reach our village of Aït Youl. Meeting with our team of muleteers. Overnight in a guesthouse.
We ascend the valley following the river towards the M’Goun gorges. We pass by several typical Berber villages and encounter their inhabitants on muleback or on foot. 5 hours of walking. Overnight in a guesthouse.
The mule trail offers us a splendid view of the Ait Mraou valley. The mountain reveals its palette of colors: red, ochre, green, grey… Meeting with locals, women carrying wood, children coming out of school. 5 hours of walking. Overnight in a guesthouse.
Discovery of the small Agouti gorges of Assif El-Qati with its beautiful oleanders. A beautiful walk amidst fields of roses, almond trees, and walnut groves. 5 hours of walking. Overnight in a guesthouse.
Descent of the M’Goun river along a drivable trail. Panoramic view with a landscape of colorful mountains. We are now in the heart of the Valley of Roses: gardens, kasbahs, picturesque villages with traditional adobe architecture. 5 hours of walking. Overnight in a guesthouse.
We take the road back to Marrakech (via Ouarzazate and the Tichka pass). Overnight at the hotel.
